Bliss
Well...this TV is bliss.

I'm enjoying this 49" 900F even if it's only been a little over 30 days. Initially have it hooked up on a Roku Premier+ via ethernet to a Yamaha receiver's HDMI ARC port and a Blueray player. No gaming. Have not been using the onboard Android system and so far it's been great. Coming from a 8 year old Sony 40" XBR Z5100, (reviewed in 2010) this has been a BIG difference. Picture on this 900F is just unbelievably clear. Amazing true, pure colors. Blacks..I've never seen anything like this except looking at Cosco's LG OLED's they have on display down in So Cal so the contrast here is..Wow!. The full array backlighting with my 3 windows in the living room adjust the brightness/contrast for afternoon viewing perfectly. Have been making small personal adjustments here and there but out of the box, this unit has been excellent. I think I've been also blessed with probably a near flawless panel. Even the STANDARD setting is stunning. Only thing that I find different (not a minus) is the viewing angle. I've read that VA panels are that way but when I'm right in front of it, it does not disappoint.

Beautiful
The most beautiful TV picture I've ever seen. Set-up was simple and straight-forward with no picture adjustments necessary to enjoy the vivid images

This is an excellaant mid-sized LED Tv
Set up for the Sony XBR49X900F is easy, straight forward and fast. The picture is great. Colors are clear and vibrant. I wanted an LED that was reasonably priced with 120Hz refresh rate for games yet with a screen size of 50 inches or less. Rather rare as I found out. This one fit those requirements.

Holy Smokes! It impresses!
This TV is replacing a 73" Mitsubishi DLP (WD-73737 to be exact).
When I went from SD to HD 10 years ago, I noticed the difference in quality. You could tell right away when you were on the wrong channel. The change from 1080 to 4K is nothing like that.

I've never been sitting at home, watching a movie, and had that "OMG This is amazing" feeling. Nothing on my BluRay on 1080p ever felt like this.

Watching 4K content with Dolby Vision is just so striking. I'm glad I bought this TV

Best of LED
This Sony XBR75X900F 75-inch TV replaced a old top of the line Panasonic plasma. I had held off buying a new 4K set, but now realize I should have done it sooner! It came down to OLED or LED. I wanted a larger 75-inch screen, and OLED is prohibitively expensive for that size. In the LED sets it seemed like it was a decision amony Sony, Samgsung, and LG -- at least based on reviews I read. I have not been disappointed.

LED is a well established technology and it shows in this set. Colors and contrast, right out of the box, were well within what I normally prefer. The two pieces for the stand were easily and intuitively attached with just one person. The weight and size of the set did require two people for placement. I bypassed the android setup and skipped all the smart tv bits. I did let it connect to my network for a short firmware update. Everything is run through my AVR, with switching to ROKU my preferred "smart mode". I have not had any operational issues using the set in this way.

I continue to be impressed, especially watching true 4K material on Direct TV and Netflix. Now, compared to OLED, this set does have some "blooming" when viewed way off axis, but even then it is OK--unless you are way off axis.

Great set for the current price!

This review is for the 65 Sony 900finch version
Preface: I purchased this via Amazon and they sold and delivered it. 12 years ago I bought the 58 Panasonic Plasma, they also sold and delivered. I was impressed with the deliver and handling back then and only trusted them to get the job done. Thus, I shopped for only TV's they handled. No I dont work for Amazon but have the highest regard for them considering never, have they let me down on a shipment. Once, and I had to laugh. I thought it was funny when I got a message from them that basically said 'we dont know where you package is and if you will ever get it'. I laughed. Thought it was funny. I got it, albeit a little late but it was in fine condition. Hey I'm an old man they humored me.

1. Amazon will advise you of the delivery time. You know the date and you must be there on that date to sign for it. My bad that I did not answer the call but my wife and I were getting spam calls from the west coast and this call was coming from the west coast so I ignored it.
2, Installers will unpack, let you inspect for damage, set the tv where you want it, turn it on and make sure it works. They are not there to fine tune it for you they have other deliveries.
3. PIcture is excellant. Of note, I have Cons Repts and there review got me to zero in on this model. You can save hundreds with the 850 model. This one had just a few more bells and whistles and I spent the extra for it.
3. I went into the Custom settings and used the settings that Cons Reports came up with in their testing lab. Irony is the tv was already on most of their setting so there is not a lot of diff there. I discovered going through all many choices you can select via their menu that Standard, and the Sports setting give you the best picture. Sports setting is very vibrant and bright, too much for my wife. We use the standard setting most.
4 A biggy and worry of mine in this tv selection process ( I spent six months researching this) was angle viewing and sports blurry. We have two coaches at an angle to any tv we would get and I have to say the angle viewing is very good on this. Some of these led tv's you need to be in front of or the picture blurs. I sit at a 25 degree angle and no problem. Also, we watch a lot of hocky and football and there is zero blur or interruption. This tv is 240 hrz versus the 120 so you will get no motion disruption. I sit 13 feet from the tv by the way.
Last, I watched this tv at 2399 then it went to 1999 for a long time, then finally Amazon dropped it to 1799 and I was close, very close and I thought, come on drop it 200 more and they did. As soon as I saw it at 1599 I jumped all over it. Great buy. These wont last long at that price.

Incredible
Recieved a refund for my defective samsung KS8000 after a two year battle with samsung. Went with this unit and could not be happier. Excellent HDR picture quality from 4K Blu rays via an oppo udp 203. Standard blu rays look amazing as well. The motion handling is superior to anything i have seen from other brands. Only bad thing i can really say is the high input lag from a 1080p console such as the switch. Overall highly recommend.

Very Pleased with our Purchase!
We purchased this set recently (65in.) and hung it on the wall in our living room which definitely requires 2 people as the set weighs 50+ lbs. I went through the (lengthy) set up process bypassing the options I found intrusive. Once completed I hooked the set to our HD cable box, an external Roku 2 media device and of course the internet via our 5G cable modem. I had some problems getting the set to connect at 5G so I initially configured it at 2G and then switched it to 5G after completing the initial setup at which point it worked fine. Maybe the software update performed during the initial setup helped things 5G wise, who knows!

I followed the recommended picture settings I found in Consumer reports and am quite pleased with the results. (FYI, you must configure the settings individually for each HDMI port and for the Smart TV Streaming applications) The settings are designed to produce lifelike color which we prefer. We’ve been watching the set for several weeks now and I’m quite pleased overall. I use the internal Android streaming apps for Amazon and Netflix to gain access to the 4K content they offer. I’ll soon replace my external Roku with a 4K capable device as my wife and I both prefer their user interface. We use Roku devices on all our sets and having a common interface keeps things simple.

We’ve viewed 4K content on Netflix and it is quite amazing. It’s easy to get spoiled watching it, kind of like when we first purchased a HD tv. It make you wish everything was in 4K but having said that regular HD looks great on this set also. I’m not a huge sports fan but NFL games look great on this set. Watching movies is a real pleasure also and the sound quality is quite good even with the internal speakers. We watched the Bruce Springsteen on Broadway special on Netflix and it was great but I did use external speakers for that.

Overall I’m very happy with this set and would recommend it for anyone looking to purchase a 4K smart TV.

Amazing picture and performance.
This TV is amazing! Many commented about he Android OS being slow to respond with the menus etc. I don't see this with the 2018 model. Remote and menus work as expected. The picture is stunning - the wireless works fantastic. The ONLY complaint, why does anyone make a remote without illumination for use in the dark?
