Excellent TV
Nice build quality super thin bezel great sound picture is excellent with very good viewing angle on par with H9F. I found best pic for me is with vivid setting. Check out some hdr videos to see what this tv can really do. Its too bad that people will Rate a product poorly for For damaged during shipping or unpacking. That should be on the shipper not the product.
BUY NOW
I'm impressed. I'm glad I took the risk and gave it a shot.
Great picture quality at a awesome price. Android system is more responsive than the h8f I had. Sound on this TV is not bad right out of the box, sure it's not like a home theater system, but for someone like myself that doesn't like the audio too loud it's not bad at all. I also turned off all the motion stuff and it looks great.
Great TV All High Marks
It's only been a week, but at this point I can find NO bad things to report - AND I'm trying to find anything negative since I am comparing to the Sony 55" A1E model OLED that it is replacing because of some kind of image issue that Sony DENIES happens. This Hisense is equal to, maybe better than, the Sony when it had a good picture. Great color. Very Sharp. It is also smart and adapts automatically to feature movies or whatever content you change to. The sound is also good right out of the box although I did lose ability to connect my sub woofer for added bass. The picture is absolutely stunning when watching blu-ray from the player. Can't wait to see a 4K blu-ray movie on this TV. Oh, and I almost forgot, HISENSE 20" bigger at half the price of a smaller SONY. Just make sure you have large rooms to view from because it is very bright and easily watched from 25 feet away.
Gaming
Hello, I game on PC at 4K and love to have my computer hooked up to a large screen. I came from a previous basic 43" Sharp 4K TV to this and I'm still blown away. The biggest problem for PC gaming on a large screen is INPUT LAG but this TV is GREAT. On gaming mode, everything is very responsive, it's impressive, and I even game on wireless keyboard and mouse, and PS4 controller! The picture is beautiful with true 4K and HDR compatible! TRUE BLACK! I feel happy to sit with this TV for a while now until the next big upgrade. Hisense has my attention for years to come now for delivering a truly worthy and well rounded product.
Great picture and amazing sound!
This is my first Android TV experience and my first introduction to the Hisense brand. Very happy with the picture, very vibrant and you can definitely notice the higher contrast and deep black with the local array dimming. There is next to no bezel, and the feet can attach in 2 different widths to accommodate your existing stand. the Dolby Atmos does not disappoint! In all honesty I wasn't expecting much from it, but once you switch the sound mode to "Theater" the virtual surround really comes out and widens the sound stage very effectively. The Google and Alexa integration, along with the smooth Android TV interface make this a pleasure to use. The voice remote is intuitively designed and feels very sturdy in your hand. I would absolutely recommend this TV to anyone looking for a new TV.
Great Picture
Quantum dot makes the colors really pop on this TV compared to the Samsung 4K LED it replaced of the same size. There is really no comparison it is that good. The screen is also not as reflective which helps drowning out ambient room lighting. I thought I would really like the android TV UI, but after trying it out, I prefer the Roku to it. Too much searching for what you are looking for. If it was closer to an android tablet or phone UI, it would have been a lot better. Sound quality is like any other TV..tinny and useless..it does an the optical audio out to hook to a surround system. Very good set for the money, will update if I encounter any problems as being a new model might show reliability problems later. I have had it for about 2 months now with no problems of being on about 5 hours a day.
Well Above the Comoetition in the Same Class
Amazing picture quality, better picture and 4k color gamut than my Sony X750 4k 50 inch., full array backlight is definitely better than the sony's direct light, such deep colors and vivid picture, so vivid that you can see the the dust particles floating in the air, using native chromecastv and apps via hardwire to fibre gig internet connection, zero lag, zero jittery picture in fast framed 4k scenes, , consistent motion flow, very smooth transition and amazing deep blacks and colors, I'd say it's an upgrade to my Sony X750 4k UHD. Ok sound wise....ive always had a sound bar current is Soundcoree Infini Pro with Dolby Atmos, amazing output but sadly no true dolby atomos from the hdmi outputs to the sound bar due to Hisense lack of support for eARC, the built in Atmos is native to the TV only, and is not worth the degradation of sound quality over the sound bar, I set the output to Dolby Digital Plus for the closest Atmos sound quality and it's legit, but not quite the true Atmos experience. Overall at the price point the H8G is a strong competitor against Sony and Samsung models with QLED tech in the 900- 1100$ 65 inch price range but lacks in some upgraded features that are found in those brands high end models with 1300-1450$ price tags.
4K Quantum Is Amazing!!
The Hisense 55” H8G I’ll start with the Hisense is a gorgeous 4KULED tv and a near-perfect balance of quality, feature-packed and oh the price is right! The picture quality is excellent at 4K resolution. The display is razor-sharp, crisp, and clear with the support of HDR and Dolby Vision. It has a 240 Motion Rate as well, which keeps things nice and smooth. The design is very attractive. The bezels are very slim giving you a more all-screen look. Google powers the TV so we all know it is smart! Android apps for days for all of your viewing pleasure. Android TV is built-in for a clean and functional UI right out of the box. Setup took about 15 minutes total including several app installs. The remote is a bit large and bulky but still good. This TV is fast, its crisp and clear and the price point will amaze! The 4K ULED takes your TV experience from the doldrum to transformational. 55 inches is exactly the perfect size for a living area or even the bedroom. Settings are available for sound, display, sleep timers, power saving, etc. Sound quality is good but the use of my soundbar enhanced the sound for sure! I would most definitely recommend this TV!
Best value in TV right now
The Hisense H8G is a remarkable television when you consider its price point. At ~$400 for the 50 inch model, there is no other TV that even comes close to the same feature set. The two main selling points of this TV are Quantum Dot tech and full array backlight with 90 local dimming zones. I play games on an Xbox one X and this TV works flawlessly with my console, and I have not seen any screen tearing to date. Speakers are surprisingly good, with balanced mids and highs, but of course, bass is a bit lacking. Android TV interface is snappy and works well-- the only issue is the internal storage. With only 4GB to store the OS, apps etc... the tv can slow down if you have too many apps installed. There are 2 ways to fix this: clear app cache or delete/reinstall the apps you use. Dolby vision support is great and works with Netflix without a hitch. The only downside to the TV that I notice frequently is the quality of the upscaling; it's just not as good as what you get from manufacturers like LG, Sony & Samsung. Overall though, GREAT TV!!
Get ready to be blown away
I had never owned a 4K TV so I was very excited to experience the HISENSE TV. After playing around with my new TV and comparing it with the others I have tried out or owned in the past I can say that I have been very pleasantly surprised. The picture quality is just way out of the league when you look at the price and compare it with some of the bigger brands like Samsung, LG, and Sony. The 4K ULED just blows your mind away with the minute details you can see and experience especially for animated movies. I was able to power through the initial install of the TV and then set up the google home powered remote that was pretty simple to use and thus I was able to connect the TV with all the smart devices like smart screen, speaker, etc. I have set up at my home. One of the things I noticed was the speed at which I am able to access apps that don't crash or get slowed down as you change out between them giving the user a seamless experience. The voice quality was also very superior with the Dolby effect giving the theatre like feel to the experience. I would definitely recommend the TV to anyone who is looking to buy a high picture and sound quality smart TV without spending the whole bank on it.
Impressive features and picture quality
I was originally looking at the TCL 4-series and decided to up my budget by $100 for the Hisense given the Quantum Dot and Dolby Vision/Atmos features. I have no regrets at all, and this television sets the bar in the sub-$500 range. The contrast on this set is remarkably better than most LCD sets and the color reproduction is lifelike right out of the box (Theater Day setting). I haven't had the opportunity to view much Dolby Vision content, but even without HDR the image quality rivals sets at twice the price. I can get Atmos content on Prime or from the Xbox UHD Blu-ray player and it's a rare future-proof feature at this price point. Some reviews have said the onboard speakers are sufficient but, while they're better than most bargain television sets, you should plan on at least a sound bar to have a reasonably good overall experience. The downside is that a Dolby Atmos set-up will cost you, but you can always wait for the price points to come down in a few years. Really happy with this purchase.
This TV Blew me Away!
I have to admit, I didn't have high expectations for this TV at first. I don't really know that much about this type of technology, or the company for that matter, but I was totally blow AWAY! Packaging was great, the corners of the TV protected in egg carton heavy cardbord. Feet were easy to attach, and tv is THIN an not heavy at all. I was skeptical about the features, as we have a smart TV already by a competing brand, and we still hook up Amazon to it, as we don't like how it operates. First, lets describe the sound quality. Not only did it operate nice and loud by barely toching the controls, the richness and quality of sound are suberb. You don't need an extra sound bar with this TV! The picture quality is OUTSTANDING! Vibrant, brigh colors, tv adjusts to the dimness of the room easily. The depth and perception of the picture is awesome, I was very surprised what great quality it is! I really like the buttons on the bottom of the control to get quickly between popular applications. There is a wide variety of APPS, though it seems a bit limited for things like ATT Uverse, that is the only complaint, you can't get as many apps as on Amazon. Other than that this TV really stands up to the more expensive brands, has a great sleek appearence, super sound, and a really sharp picture. I will keep Hinese on my radar in the future when looking for another tv!
Initial Impression: Really good TV
Review of the 50" version - I took a shot on this TV because of how well the 2019 models were reviewed and I'm glad I did. I find this TV to be a really good value. For the price, I think you'll be hard pressed to find a better TV. The picture is really, really good. It was a little bright out of the box but adjusting the backlight made the picture really stand out. The sound is great, nice full sound with Dolby ATMOS. We used the speech emphasis setting and get really clear dialogue with great, deep full sound.
I have only had this TV for a very short time so if something goes wrong I'll update the review however the initial impression is very positive. You can definitely pay more for a TV but I wouldn't
