Reviews of Sony X800H 55 Inch TV: 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV with HDR and Alexa Compatibility - 2020 Model

Wife’s Boyfriend Loves It
So many good things to say about this tv. The quality is great, the apps are fantastic, great for cord cutters with free tv app options. The sound is crisp and clear. Super sturdy legs. My wife catches me starring at the tv legs, it’s gotten me in trouble, but she does like the tv, and so does her boyfriend Ronnie. It’s a long story.

Sony is an excellent TV for a great price
We really like everything about this TV. It was very easy to put together. We are both in our 70’s and it was fun putting the legs on and putting it in place.
The hook up was easy, the HDMI ports were clearly marked. We use Comcast, I was able to follow the setup without calling Comcast. (Yay for Me) Needless to say we LIKE this Sony

Satisfied I made the right choice
I prefer Apple Products. I've had Samsung and LG flat screens but had to have separate devices to integrate my Apple devices with the TC. This TV allows Airplay which gets me what I want. Share pictures with those around me easily over the TV without a bunch of extra devices.

The remote is difficult and it seems Google has the upper hand on the buttons but that's not a big deal. Learned how to use voice commands to go straight to Amazon Prime Video. I use both Netflix and Amazon Prime and both perform so much better than they were on my LG device. My LG 55" TV would not keep a consistent connection to my WiFi. The Sony hasn't dropped it yet.

Love the picture and the size. Opted out of a sound bar for now. Tried my LG sound bar with the Sony but it didn't work very well.

I looked closely at Vizio, Sony, LG and Samsung prior to making this decision. Both at Amazon ratings and on several other web sites. Do your homework to make sure you get what you want!

One of the best TVs you can get at this size
One thing I've noticed is that it's becoming harder and harder to find top-quality TVs in sizes smaller than 55". I guess the assumption is that the only people looking for a smaller TV are doing so because of budget concerns. In my case, I like having a smaller TV in the living room because of the seating arrangement; a big TV ends up being like sitting in the front row at a movie theater.

This was the best that I was able to find following the premature death of my Samsung 7-series, which was the top of the line at the time I bought it (no QLED or even 8-series at the time). I was unimpressed by Samsung's offerings at 43", and the only other good option I found - an LG from Costco - didn't play well with my PS4 Pro.

I'm very happy with my purchase. I usually use four video sources - a non-4K DirecTV Genie Mini, the aforementioned PS4 Pro, a Sony UHD Blu-ray player, and an Apple TV 4K, all of which flow through an Onkyo AV receiver. All four look great. I did have to do some minor tweaking on the PS4, but once I did that, it looked awesome.

About the only beef I have is viewing angles, which aren't the greatest.

Great Tv.
Love this tv. Perfect right out of the box no adjustment needed. Excellent picture and color. Very good viewing angle almost 180 ° is real good. The 1st one I bought was defective right out of the box. Returned it to Amazon no questions asked. Amazon has an excellent return policy. Also purchased the extended warranty.

I Rounded Up From 4.5 Stars
This TV is great. I got the 43 inch and I use it exclusively as a computer monitor. I read a bunch of reviews that said it would be a great monitor and they weren't wrong. It's big, evenly lit, color accurate, bright, etc.

The only issue I have with it is the input lag on the mouse. If you put it in "Graphics" mode, that eliminates the input lag, but only if you switch it to "Graphics" mode from one of the other settings. If you turn it on and it is already in Graphics mode, it will still have lag. But if you then change it to something like "Photos" or "Cinema", then change it back to "Graphics" mode, it eliminates the input lag and it's totally fine.

It takes about 5 seconds to do this so it isn't hard, but I have to do it every time I turn it on. I wish I didn't have to. However, after that, I am totally blown away by how great it is. So don't let that stop you from getting it!
